Avery Business Card Questions asked

Open Question: hp 5610 business card alignment problems.?

When I try and print business cards the alignment is way off (the printer starts printing at the very top of the paper. If I print the same document on regular paper it prints perfectly but it is not on business card paper. I have tried Avery 27871 and Avery 8371 paper with the same results. Any solution to get this to work? I am using a Mac with Pages as the program. Thanks :) more

Voting Question: Are there any home printers that can print on stock as small as individual business cards?

I had several thousand business cards printed professionally. Now I would like to be able to print on the back side of them, to add additional information that was not available at the time I originally created them (website, etc.) I know there are scanners specifically sized for business cards. I am wondering if there are any printers (either inkjet or laser) which would allow me to feed in 3.5" x 2" business cards & directly print on them. I am aware of options like getting my order reprinted from scratch, or buying sheets of Avery blanks, but those are not what I am looking for at this point. I would like to be able to use the cards I already have. Are there any home printers that can print on individual 3.5" x 2" card stock? Thanks for your help! more

Resolved Question: How To Correctly Print/Align Avery 8371 Business Cards?

Okay. I am printing out "Raffle Tickets" on Business Cards. I downloaded this template off of Microsoft Office's website and customized it to my liking. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC012299651033.aspx?pid=CT101436061033 I made 100 documents and numbered the tickets from 000-999. That took a whole 3 and a half hours. Before I made everyone of them I printed off one copy to see if it worked. Sure enough it did PERFECTLY. I thought Wow! for once somethings going to be easy and work for me. Well I guess I was wrong. I now went to print off the rest of the cards but for some reason my printer (HP PSC 1350 All-In-One) will not print the tickets on the correct region of the perforated paper. It prints right before the first perforation so that the first two lines are omitted. Basically it starts printing right away rather than leaving a space at the top of the page. Funny thing is when I print it on normal paper it works PERFECTLY! I've tried adjusting my margins, hitting the enter button and moving the document down (on MS Word) but even after that it isn't aligned. I've adjusted settings on the print menu, there isn't a choice for perforated paper. Ugh I've wasted probably 20 sheets of paper and a ton of ink trying to do this. It worked last night and now it isn't at all. I'm running out of ideas. I even restored my computer to last night and it still doesn't work. Please someone help I'm so stressed out about this. Thanks for the fast response George, but I've tried flipping the paper upside down, turning it everything. No luck. I tried calling both Staples and Avery's costumer support but they are both closed. more

Resolved Question: How do I correctly print business cards?

I am using avery.com's Design and Print Online program to "design and print" business cards. So I am finished with the designing part and when I want to print them i click next. It then opens my sheet of 10 identical business cards in a pdf. I click print and scale the page to fit into printable area and print using normal weight printer paper. I hold the now printed business cards in the light with the heavyweight business card paper behind it and everything is where its supposed to be. Now that I'm ready to use the heavyweight paper i load it into the tray in our printer it doesn't print in the correct region. Since the sheet is perforated, it prints right before the first perforation so that the 1st two lines are omitted. this is frustration because when i test i t it's fine! Please help, i've spent days trying to figure this stupid thing out. And it's Avery product 8371, but I'm using the staples version (Inkjet Business Cards, Matte White, Heavyweight) Please give me helpful answers. more

Resolved Question: business card making problems (printshop & publisher)?

Why is this so hard? I started in print shop spent a whole day designing my double sided business card. Happy with it until the end. I wanted the whole background yellow. It would let me color the background, except leaving me this 1/8’ box around the whole edge of the card. Not good enough (the whole back of the card yellow). So then went to ms publisher (everyone said use ms publisher). Fine, I found what looks like a business card template. Figured out how to color it yellow…good. Tried to import the rest of my file from print shop .biz ext. publisher wont accept the .biz ext. it…now only wondering where is the Avery 8371 template is on publisher…. Is their a solution (not go have someone do it for me) or program that can handle it all? more

Resolved Question: What is Tyler Durden's address?

In the afterword, Palahniuk says that every Avery Denison stationery package has the address of 420 Paper St. Wilmington, DE 19886. However, Palahniuk has never said that the address is correct, and the presence of 420 indicates that it's a fabrication by someone familiar with cannabis culture. In the movie, on Tyler's business card, it says 537 Paper Street, Bradford 19808. The 19808 zip code is Wilmington, so Bradford must be a village in Wilmington. However, the 288 area code is nonexistant, and the Wilmington area code in reality is 302. However, to complicate things, when the Narrator is being interrogated by the cops, he says the address is actually 1537 Paper Street. Which one is right? more

Resolved Question: Homework Help!!! I have to prepare a postcard invitation in MS Word as instructed in my text book!!!!?

These are the exact instructions taken from my textbook. Advanced Word Processing Simulation Second Edition. It's the book where they use SBI as your business. Any help would be greatly apprecited. The instructions aren't very detailed. It just tells you what to do and you're supposed to know how. Well, I don't. Here they are: Please prepare a post card invitation for the upcoming small breakfast forum on May 12 using Avery 5389. Make the front of the post card visually appealing. Split the cell on the backside and key the invitation text at the left in a fancy font and add a border around it. I've attached a simple layout. Add merge fields to the address section on the right; then merge the post cards with the presenters' data fi;e you created in Job 03. It says at the bottom that the features I'll be learning are: Borders, Clip Art, Envelopes and Labels, Fonts, Lines and Text Boxes, and Mail Merge. Avery 5389 doesn't look like a post card layout to me. Help!!!! more

Resolved Question: I need serious help w/MS Office Publisher 2007 and its related components.?

I recently downloaded MS Office Pub 07 so I could try it out. I designed a business card and tried printing it out. It will not print correctly (align) in Publisher. I am using Avery 28877. When I try to use Word 07 (as I have been instructed to before), I have no "Tools" prompt on my toolbar where the mailings and labels window is supposed to be. When I try to open my business card file in Word, a window pops up with what appears to be my design in encrypted form and the header reads "file converson". I have no idea what this is or how to correct it. I do have an Avery prompt but all that does is give me access to Avery templates which quite honestly is VERY limited in what it will allow me to create (ex. NO lines can be drawn). It appears that I am not allowed to print my business cards with the trial version of this product. Any help with this matter is greatly appreciated. more

Resolved Question: Why aren't my business cards formatting correctly?

This is driving me nuts, I am about to pull my hair out. I have tried printing some business cards I created. When I print it the first 2-4 cards come out okay but the last 6-8 are moved up onto the previous card. I used the same image for each card on the sheet. There is no reason why it should not print properly. I also tried doing it on the Avery website but it printed almost exactly the same. Could it be my printer? How do I format it so that it prints correctly and none of the cards get cutoff. Please help, I have been working on this forever and I am going insane. more

Resolved Question: How do you copy tables (making biz cards) on Microsoft Word?

To the Microsoft Word experts- I need step by step advice please! I am using MS Word making business cards in the Avery 8371 label template that is embedded in the program. Once choosing the Avery 8371 and displaying the document grid it automatically built out the 10 business cards 2 columns by 5 rows. At the top left business card, I started making my custom card using text and a graphic which I use as my logo. In order to this and make it look like I wanted, I had to build tables (with invisible lines) within tables to seperate the text and the graphic. The card looked awesome! Here's my problem: I cannot copy this business card to the other 9 cards on the same document page becuase it jumbles the tables all up and I don't know what the heck I'm doing. It would take me for ever to build all of these individually and I'm sure they would not all look alike. Is there a way to auto copy all 10 of them to their appropriate biz card fields without this problem ??? more
