Resolved Question: Need opinion on if this business idea would be profitable?

Ever since I was little I have always wanted to own my own vineyard or restaurant. But recently I have come upon the idea of starting a chain of businesses that are intertwined together.I was thinking of starting off with an Italian restaurant as my starting business. Then if i can afford to start my own vineyard in italy where I can import the authentic italian wine into the U.S. and sell it at the restaurant. Then if affordable starting my own import/export business to import/export wine made by me and other italian wine companies hoping to sell in America. So that is my idea i am sorry if it was to long.I was only hoping to get an opinion about the idea.By the way I am only 15.I was just asking this for future reference more

Resolved Question: Hi.I'm 33 years old now. I'm new in the US(have a permanent resident permit). I now wanna get bachelor degree?

I wonder if that's possible at my age. I mean, I would like to go to college for bachelor in Business Administration or for Computer Science, but I got my High School degree in Cuba (I'm cuban) and don't know if they are going to accept me. I have a associated degree in "Foreign trade" which I got in Cuba after High School. I've been working in international business(sales, Import/Export) since I started my working career 14 years ago and have a flair for computers. Would that help in any way? Should I get any test prior to college? Would I qualify for any financial aid at 33 or 34 years old? Would I need to do something for qualifying for financial aid? I'm really new in the US(only 2 months), I don't have yet a fix job. Beside all that, I also speak 4 languages, but I don't think that would help me for getting accepted into college. I thank you all that will help me with your answers. more

Resolved Question: Does the IMF help Countries or does it ruin countries with perpetual debt, imposing control and total dispair?

IMF has its own agenda and now G20 Counties are giving them money to support and take care of our world. IMF needs to be more accountable. The fastest way for a Country to go into perennial debt, lose control of its economy, lose autonomy over its country's interest is to take help from the IMF. IMF walks in and starts doling out ideas and bad policy that demolishes a country and then the country has lost everything. They are drowned in Debt, worse off that before, mismanagement. IMF needs to be the solution, it is the problem. Lets do a comparative study of the progress and ruin that has been made when IMF stepped in and gave countries like Congo, Jamaica loans. These countries are worse off that before. The proof is evident in their track record.IMF needs more accountability and total transparency or it needs to be scrapped. In 1962, Jamaica won its independence from the United Kingdom, and the island nation, which had long struggled with poverty, attempted to use its agricultural resources in order to create a sound economic base. As Jamaica's financial problems grew more severe with time, prime minister Michael Manley struck a deal in 1977 with a consortium of economic institutions through the International Monetary Fund, who would loan money to the nation in exchange for removal of trade restrictions and subsidized exports. Twenty-five years later, most Jamaicans would agree that the deal drove a stake through the island's agricultural and industrial economy; imports from America have ruined the island's dairy industry, interference from growers and merchants in the United States and Latin America have effectively ended the growing of onions, bananas, carrots, and potatoes as cash crops, the value of the Jamaican dollar has plummeted, and the island is now seven billion dollars in debt to the IMF, with interest driving that figure higher each day. We need to examine the sad state of Jamaica's economy in the face of "free trade" in the global economy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoIJPwfsbqg http://www.imf.org/external/np/pdr/trans/2009/index.htm http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3802714/Life_And_Debt_-_Jamaica__IMF__amp__World_Bank_ http://www.freedomworks.org/publications/the-imf-bad-cop http://www.brazzil.com/2004/html/articles/may04/p167may04.htm http://www.socialistworker.co.uk/art.php?id=12349 http://www.nytimes.com/1981/04/15/business/imf-jamaica-loan.html more

Resolved Question: Why is the economy bad?

Here is what I don't understand: 1) There is still the same amount of money flowing in the economy as it was before, so how come some people have gotten very poor? 2) Why did prices go up? Is it because of China's and India's good economy? Since they are doing so good, they can afford to import more and cut down on exporting. Is that the reason? 3) Iraq war. We had many wars, but none of them hurt the economy as much as this one. Didn't WW2 HELP the economy? Government is trying to bail us out by pumping more money into the economy but is that going to help? More money in the economy = the money is worth less. The price of every product will go up accordingly. How is bailout money helping the economy? Here is my stupid theory: News Networks started talking that the economy is doing a little worse than before. Many people have decided to save money instead of spending it. 1) Less spending = less profit for business = more layoffs. 2) More layoffs = less money in people's hands = less spending (back to STEP 1) How are we ever going to come out of this global economic crisis? more

Resolved Question: Solution to Slow Economy Can someone pass this to President Obama?

OK I think I have the simplest solution for Congress to get us out of this recession. The answer is Free Trade Agreements. Not with industrialized nations but with medium developed nations. why? I watched a documentary this weekend on the Discovery channel. China-US free trade agreement was created so that equal amount of goods were consumed by Americans and Chinese to keep an equal financial field for both nations. But it was a big mistake. There are wealthier people in the U.S. than there is in China. For instance. a couple doctor in China buys American appliances and Ethan Allen furniture because they can afford it. But thats is a small fraction compared to the number of Americans that buy Made in China goods. This approach of opening new markets of free trade agreement around the world would help us because it will help us expands our markets globally and have wealthier people from other nations buy American goods. I am a mere example. I want to start a business exporting rental equipment to a country in Central America. But at this point it isnt practical or profitable because the minute I import the goods I buy in America I will be taxed big time the minute I enter these goods to the destination country. Same analogy works for appliances. If a sucessful exporter brings US goods to any country (with no Free Trade Agreement) that country will add at 30% tax to the goods. Making it harder for the salesman exported sell these fantastic Made in America goods to foreign customers. But if there is a free trade agreement there will be no 30% custom tax. And the more free trade agreements we create with more nations the more we will be able to sell American made products abroad to wealthier people that believe American goods are better, last for ever, and are reliable. These free trade agreements will create more competition to China, forcing China to either pay better to their employees or not make anything anymore. Contact your local Congressman/woman to support Free Trade Agreement with more nations. Free Trade Agreements is the solution to America's financial crisis. In my opiniont free trade agreement becomes a multiplier of the number of global consumers the U.S. will generate to consume Made in USA products. Any thoughts?More reasons to support Free Trade Agreement, Its now or NEVER. http://news.yahoo.com/s/bw/20090303/bs_bw/feb2009tc20090228990934 titled: Why Skilled Immigrants Are Leaving the U.S. more

Resolved Question: I have too much debt, Please advice me what to do?

I am from Manchester I owned a textile business since 1998 with approximately 100 staff, the business was going well until two years ago. I was importing and exporting but over the last two years the business has been in a steady decline, I have also had to reduce my staff levels and now have only five people working in the factory. My factory and my home both have high mortgages. I have taken out loans for my business, I have re-mortgaged my house and used all the available money on my credit cards. I now find myself in a position where I am unable to make any of the repayments and the interest is increasing up daily. I am struggling to pay the five remaining staff. I do not know what to do, I have considered suicide but I have two children and I really must think about them. I have considered running away and leaving all the debts behind but I do not have any money to start a new life anywhere else. If anyone has any advice to offer as to how I can deal with this and get some sort of normality back in to my life I would be very grateful more

Resolved Question: Is the world connected economically like Bernanke thinks?

http://www.foxbusiness.com/story/markets/business-leaders/bernanke-obama-stimulus-lift-economy/ Bernanke lives in a dream world where printing money is his only goal. Meanwhile China is starting wise contracts all over the world absent of any US involvement. They just started an import/export contract deal with greece to involve shipping to each other and to the rest of the EU. Europe and many other countries still export alot the US does not and has not for a long time. Bernanke is so wrong. Chinese save up to 50% what they make and live within their means. The US does not and wont now either. With the exception of Canada and maybe Mexico the rest of the world will and is right now decoupling from the worthless and unproductive US economy. Reality stinks but then the US citizen didnt not listen and kept voting for democrats/republicans and just saw dollar signs blinding them to the truthThe majority of reputable economists especially in the US said there would not be a recession in the US just 2 years ago. They were wrong then and they are sure wrong now. The truth is always believed in by the minority not the majority. I am fully invested in commodities nations other than the US will need so I am not upset. Just trying to warn people of their mistakes. Resolved Question: Can I start export\import business without any money for a start?

Just export any goods or import.Business license is not so expensive. As for the money for paying to the manufacturer, I can get them in advance from the buyer in the country of import. For instance I get 50% of prepayment - 30% are paid to the manufacturer to start manufacturing of the order. When the goods are manufactured I receive another half of payment from the Buyer and by opening the letter of credit I pay to the manufacturer against its delivering of the goods to the Bueyr. However, due to the current investment market conditions I'm seriously considering Civil Engineering. I'm not sure whether I exploited all the options in the business field though I tried to move up in the corporation's hierarchy and realized that it takes many years of dedication to be recognized. Also, I set up a few import/export trading businesses a couple of years ago but I had to shut everything down because of the scarce operation volumes. I really don't see the point of pursuing an investments career. I don't mind starting from scratch, I just want to make sure that I'm pursuing something that will lead to long-term stability. Have I done everything possible to continue in the business area? Is this change too drastic?I provide the funds for my education. Absolutely no third party involved, many friends in their 20's have gone bankrupt without even graduating. Took pre-calculus, calculus and advanced calculus, obtained B+ on all three. Not so into physics.. yet. more
